Señorita Cinema - 11/1/2019
During 2018 when I was freelancing and doing my creative practice full-time, I set the goal to experiment with video as a new medium in my practice. I found the medium challenging and uncomfortable. The thing that no one tells you is that growth requires all of you; and growth feels challenging and uncomfortable.
In this format, I found a way to grow my storytelling skills in a digitally intimate way. I also found the encouragement to keep going. Big shoutout to my homie Angel Yau for giving me my first taste of video art and performance at her series, VHS Presents. YOU DA BEST, Angel!
In my move to Texas, I’m grateful to continue building my creative community and creative practice. Which has led to this happy announcement:
I screening my first video work at Señorita Cinema on November 1-3, 2019.
This film festival is the world’s only Latina film festival.
My screening took place on Saturday, November 2 at 7 pm.
